3 Easy Curly Hair Fixes

On July 12, 2012 by Yazmin

If you read my blog, you know I’m not much of a girly girl. I don’t wear makeup. Can’t stand most perfumes (except for Sunflowers by Elizabeth Arden… so lovely.) Haven’t purchased a pair of heels in years, although I have my eye on these surprisingly sexy wedges from Dr. Scholl’s… Yes. Most things for me are for practicality.

Week 2 - Bath Time Fun

My one obsession though, is my hair. My very curly hair. Fortunately, I get lots of compliments on it when I take the time to style it well. Since I have lots of hair… and a 21-month old running around, that doesn’t happen as often as I would like.

Someone asked me the other day what I do with my hair when I’m running late and need to kiss my curly hair beauty blunders good-bye (no one likes to have an embarrassing beauty disaster, much less me!) These were my top three suggestions:

  • Frizzy crown? In the same way dryer sheets tame static on your clothing, they can also tame static on your hair. Lightly passing a dryer sheet to the outside of your hair in a downward motion will help frizzy hairs fall back in line with your curls.
  • Fuzzy ends? No matter what type of hair you have, the best way to deal with fuzzy ends is to trim your hair. If you don’t have the time or the money for a hair trim, you can always make your hand fall in line by adding a little conditioner to ends and following up with some liquid hair gel. Your springy curls will be as good as new!
  • When all else fails, wrap it in a band! If your hair isn’t behaving how you’d like, you can always take advantage of your natural frizziness and body. Pull your hair back and placing a headband at your crown tames frizzies around your face, but leaves your curly ends free to bounce!

Next week, I’ll show you ways to prevent curly hair mishaps from the get-go. Tell me, how do you fix your hair and beauty mishaps?
