Or as Jason said to Baby Girl this morning – “Happy -5 Weeks!”
5 weeks. Time has flown by. This is how it will be from now on, isn’t it? A day will turn into a week, into a month, into half a year in what feels like a blink of the eye. You don’t have to answer that… I already know what you would say.
So a quick update today, because I spent the morning helping out with the Spanish ministry at church (awesome morning!) and I am pooped! But first, of course, is my weekly update picture:
As you can see, I can no longer fit into our shower without my belly touching both sides of the shower door entrance. Let me say that is slightly depressing, but it does mean the arrival of Baby Girl is just around the corner! A friend mentioned I may want to switch to taking baths, but I find I never quite feel clean enough when I do. Lucky for me, we have a shower in the guest bathroom… woohoo! I may be using it regularly soon.
I was also able to get several things done from last week’s list like finishing the room stencils, picking up baby detergent (which I think we’re going to return now that we’ve thought about it more and realize neither of us has any skin sensitivities) and sending out our mother’s baby presents. Love crossing things off a list. Woot!
Oh and the crib! I mentioned last week that we received the crib. Jason promptly started to assemble it for us that evening, just to find a crack on the front facing leg of the crib. Not being sure if it was completely aesthetic, we decided to follow up with the crib manufacturer to get a replacement part.
Unfortunately, the process can take anywhere from 10 days to 2 1/2 weeks to get a new part. Being the impatient parents we are, we decided to call our local Babies R Us store and explained what happened and how long it would take.
I have to say, I wasn’t expecting it, but the manager was super awesome in solving our dilemma. He ordered a second crib for us, same model, to be delivered to our house. His plan was for us to swap out the defective part and return one of the cribs. We actually got the second crib yesterday and were able to finish setting it up!
Jason wanted to get it dressed a.s.a.p. so he washed the crib bedding last night so here it is:
Don’t mind our nasty carpet. That’s 8+ years of office dust. We have a cleaner coming in sometime soon… Now if we could just find an inexpensive white changing table/dresser on Craigslist! Although, I have to admit, an Ikea dresser is looking awfully good right about now…
And that’s it for this week! Tomorrow our church is holding a baby shower for us. Super nice of them and I’m very grateful we have them in our lives. I’ll make sure to share more next week!

Awwww…. it all looks so lovely. And you look amazing! You did such a great job. I hope she’s not like my jolly monkey who didn’t sleep in his crib until he was about 10 months old. The only place he would sleep is next to me!
You and your hubby are going to make such great parents! Such a pretty, pretty room….so much love has gone into making this room perfect for baby Wickham!
I love Baby Girl’s room decor, it makes me want to set up and be surrounded in pink. But what strikes me most is your shower photo. I am curious in two ways. First, do you take a picture like that yourself, or is it Jason? Second, is that where the wasp attacked?
I imagine it is, LOL. Jason out did himself with the washing of the bedding. Keep him on it. Talk to you soon.

Everything looks perfect!

Thanks Ladies!
Katie – I use a tripod for my self portraits and yes, that is the location of the infamous wasp attack. As you can see, there are no windows around anywhere, so we are still baffled by how she got in!
How adorable….you and the nursery!! ohhh, 5 weeks! I’m marking my calender this minute! :)
