I know, I know, I said I was dropping back on the blogging, but this is a bit important if you deal with collecting sales tax for your state. Etsy has announced their much-anticipated new Checkout will support collecting sales tax.
You can go to your Tax Settings to set tax rates for U.S. states, Canadian provinces, and countries where you would like to collect sales tax. You can also indicate whether the tax rate for each region should apply to shipping charges.
Important: If you would like to collect sales tax from buyers who use the new Checkout, you must set your rates by 12 a.m. ET, Thursday, August 26.
This is for everyone, even if you already have PayPal collecting taxes for you as any purchases made with the new Checkout will ignore PayPal’s tax settings.
