Insanity Update – Week 3

On August 1, 2012 by Yazmin

Week 3 of the Insanity workout was rough. Partially because I knew what to expect from the workouts. (At this point you’ve done all the first month workouts and are on repeat.) Partially because my body is feeling the stresses of a hard 6-day-a-week workout.

I won’t lie. 6 days a week is hard. One of the days, I almost didn’t get my workout in, because the girl woke up a little early. I made the mistake of grabbing her from her crib. Fortunately, Elmo videos on the Sesame Street website came to the rescue!

Now, on to the update…

Tape Measure

Measurements

Measurements
Body Part 6/30/2012 7/27/2012 +/-
Arms 13.5r 13.5l 13.5r 13.5l -
Rib Cage 40 38 -2
Waist 45 43 -2
Hips 50 50 -
Thighs 27.5r 28l 27r 27l -1.5

(At this point, I had a whole other post ready to go, but my computer ate it. Forgive me if I’m brief.)

I lost 4 inches off my belly.

Isn’t that amazing? I’m very happy about that, especially since there was no loss on my hips. 52 inches is what my hips measured, but I thought that was odd. When I got home, I realized it was due to my dress jeans… (I was on my way to do some shopping and didn’t really want to wear my workout clothing for the whole trip.) My jeans have large buttons and back pockets right where the tape was measuring, so I just recorded the measurement the same as last month.

Weight Loss

Regarding my weigh in, I decided not to record an official weigh-in. After an early Saturday birthday at Maggiano’s Little Italy, another birthday celebration at Provino’s Sunday and a happy birthday cupcake last night, I know I am nowhere near what I should weigh regularly at the moment. Not to mention, my birthday is actually today, so I have more edible goodies coming my way…

Happy Birthday Cupcake

Happy Birthday Cupcake

I’m a sucker for edible goodies.

With all the food I ate this weekend, I’m sure I’ve gained 2 pounds! I don’t think I can live with seeing that weight increase each day as I update my food diary, so, I’m skipping my weigh in this week to help keep my mental sanity.

How are you doing with your health goals?
