Project 365 for 2013

On January 4, 2013 by Yazmin

The last time I completed a 365 photo project was back in 2009, before the girl was born. I tried to do something similar the following year, but once I found out I was pregnant, it went by the wayside. Between keeping up with the business and deciding on whether or not to shut down the jewelry business temporarily, on top of getting ready for the baby, I was overwhelmed.

Something had to give and it was my 365 project.

Part of the trouble with a daily project is the pressure of posting… well… daily. I used to post my 365 on Flickr, but with everything else on my plate, it left me feeling a failure when I couldn’t do the one thing I attempted to do regularly for the year. It’s how I feel when I miss a day of reading my bible, but that’s a story for another time…

This time, I plan on making it easier for me. As much as I’d like to say there won’t be any pressure, I know myself… So for this round, I’ll be posting my week’s collection of 365 photos on Friday’s. One day, seven photos. I’m hoping this will make the project less daunting.

With that, here’s my first installment of 365 photos:

Wet Leaves

1/365 – Rainy New Year’s Day

Big Shoes to Fill

2/365 – The girl trying to fill some big shoes

Bathtime!

3/365 – Tubby time fun

Kitty PJs in the morning

4/365 – Good morning to you kitty PJs

Have you started Project 365? What are you doing to make it moreĀ manageableĀ for yourself?

Yazmin, I love this idea of posting a week of photos for your 365! I got a new fancy camera last year for Christmas but feel like I haven’t had the chance to use it to its full potential. You have just inspired me! Thanks sis! Love ya!

Thanks Mandi! You should definitely break out that camera and take photos so I can pretend I’m right there! :D Love you bunches, too!

  • Wow Yazmin…these are beautiful, esp that little girl! I also love the idea of posting once per week, i’m hoping to keep up but i’m sure i may miss a day or two of posting! I look forward to seeing your images every week. I guess it’s all about growth and having fun too!

Thank you Indira! After seeing your photos, you are clearly too kind. hehe :)

Would love to hear what you’re looking at improving with your photography!

  • That’s a great idea posting once a week all the photos for that week. I’ve noticed several people now who are doing that. This is my first time doing the 365. I’m going to try doing the one a day, but if it gets overwhelming, I might break it down to weekly postings.

Love your photos! You have a beautiful daughter! :)

Thank you Laurel! Yes, daily posting is definitely a commitment… one I already know I cannot make. :/ Looking forward to your 365 project!

  • Your daughter is adorable! Those water drops on the first shot are lovely. Yes, posting everyday is extremely daunting and a reason I didn’t do it last year because I was burnt out from the previous year. So good for you for doing what’s best for you! :)

Thanks Melissa! Saw you mentioned you were already behind this year. :( I’m sure you’ll catch up… Can’t wait to see more “makeup” photos of Adalyn. :D

  • I love the idea of a year-long project, but I think a 365 would break me, even though I’ve been taking and sharing photos pretty much every day. The pressure of it would be intense, but I love your approach to it! It feels much more doable, so I wish you the best of luck!

Thanks Brandi! Yes, a 365 is a lot of pressure. I think you’d be able to handle it, though. :) You’re a gal who plans. ;)
