Sleep Training Weekend – Day 4

On December 6, 2011 by Yazmin

Can’t really call it a sleep training “weekend” anymore, as we are now into Monday night, but I am so glad to say that baby girl slept a whole 11 1/2 hours last night! Woot! Of course, she went down with a 30 minute fuss, but she did it!

The day wasn’t as good, so it seems like we now need to work on setting a daytime nap schedule. She napped 45 minutes in the morning and then didn’t want to nap at all until 6pm. Too close to bed time, I think, but since I was off grabbing dinner for us, Jason let her fall asleep. We paid the price as she woke up an hour later and almost nothing could appease her.

We didn’t even make it to the 8pm bedtime tonight as she just cried and cried in my lap. I knew she was just overtired, so upstairs we went and I laid her down with about 20 minutes of crying. I decided to turn on her sleepy giraffe tonight to help her calm down and fall into sleep since she seemed a little more worked up than normal. Hoping it doesn’t backfire on me when it stops.

As far as me and my sleep… I think it will be slow coming. Just not used to not having to get up in the middle of the night to take care of her. I wonder how long it will take for my brain to rewire itself.
