Having taken a break from doing any shows this year, I decided to help out a friend this morning by participating in a home show for her mother’s group. It’s amazing how easy it is to forget all the work it takes to prep, setup and break down for shows…lots of hard work! I honestly have to say I don’t miss it one bit.
What I realized is that I truly miss making jewelry. Sitting there in-between customers, I had the chance to work on a new piece and it was a great. Wrapping the wire around the frame I hammered into submission, selecting stones to match and putting it all together. It was as if I was still making jewelry on an everyday basis. It was as if all the creativity I thought I had lost was still right there.

So I’ve decided that I’m just going to have to make time weekly to create. Now, just to add two more hours to the day…Everyone’s up for 26 hour days, right?
