Fast forward to now. I was in the middle of creating a shipping label for one of my customers when I clicked the button to print the label. I quickly remembered I had to open Firefox to print the shipping label. While I was waiting for Firefox to open, I noticed Chrome didn’t give me the sad face window, but instead, displayed the shipping label as should have been expected.

Everything works great, until PayPal launches the pop up window asking you to verify the label printed correctly. In the background window, Chrome opens up the new Print PDF Preview feature. The problem occurs while the pop up window is open… you can’t access the Print Preview window to actually print the label.

The workaround? If you close the popup window using the “X” box of the window itself (not the “Ok” or “Cancel” buttons), the previously opened Print Preview tab will remain open for you to continue with the print process.

Voilà ! You can now print PayPal shipping labels from Chrome!

As much as I try to move past it, I keep coming back to ideas of opening up both my old Etsy shop and the website shop. As if I have time for all of the responsibilities of running the two stores, web work, destashing supplies and the arrival of Baby Girl! I may be setting the bar much higher than I can clear.

So I want to pick your brains. Should I forge forward with my plans of opening shop so that I’ll be ready for the holidays or delay all of that until the New Year? Am I out of my mind for even thinking of making these plans with Baby Girl on her way?

Last week I made mention of how I was able to generate so much blog press about my sale. I promised I would talk about it this week and since my week is almost over, I figured I should get to that now. :)

I read someplace once that if you want your product to be remembered, you need to present it to your target market at least 5 times before they actually start remembering you. (If anyone can confirm or deny that, please let me know. I can’t seem to find my source for that anymore.)

Seems like a lot, doesn’t it? When you think about it, most of the time you only have one shot, whether that be your website’s landing page, a random blog post, or when someone walks by you at a show and something catches their eye. Not much room left for error with first impressions.

To that end, I developed a simple marketing plan. If you’re familiar with my 101 List, you’ll see one of my goals is to submit my website to at least 4 different blogs for a write up once a month. Last month, I did just that and went a bit overboard, submitting to over 50+ blogs. (Blog submission is just one of the items on my marketing plan. I’ll talk about that some other time.)

Now, I think my little secret is pretty clear: self-promotion. It’s as simple as that. Open your mouth, or in this case, whip our your keyboard and get to talking. I absolutely know this is why I was lucky enough to have all these wonderful blog mentions on my sale. Had I not touted my own horn (which is okay to do as a business), I don’t believe any of these blogs would have known about what was going on at my site.

So, don’t be shy. You want people to know you exist? Then blow your own horn here and there.

How about you? Do you find when you talk about your product, there seems to be more interest?

You may notice that some items over there are priced higher than they are on this site. The issue deals with how you are purchasing the items. Since your purchases on this site are made directly with me (no middle man), the price for items purchased here is much less than purchasing my items through another website. So if you happen to see something over at the Etsy website that I don’t have listed here, send me an email to get the direct price. I’m accomodating. :)
