I seem to be a magnet for clutter. As much as I try to stay organized and keep a clean and usable work area, I always end up collecting papers and half started projects in these piles that make no sense to anyone but me. After a while, the piles all merge into one large mess and soon I end up with this:

Why am I showing you my messy work area? Firstly, it just so happens that the topic of the week for the new Etsy Bloggers Street Team is crafting spaces and studios. I just caught wind of this group last minute and I certainly don’t want to miss out on what’s sure to be a fantastic group of posts. (I’m hoping to find some inspiration in someone else’s setup, too.)

Secondly, because I hope the shame of showing you how messy my work area is will force me to clean it and hopefully show you a neater, more organized setup. (Embarrassment tends to be what lights a fire under many a butt…and sometimes mine, which I’m hoping works this time.)

So, as I write this, I’m also going through and sorting my desk, putting papers in their correct place and just in general trying to inspire myself by having a clean desk. (Kinda like starting with a clean slate.) Maybe I should take bets on how long I keep my desk clean this time…
